Just a little Apocalyptic Fun
My little bro and his friends and I decided to make a little movie. So I decided to take a few stills from the movie.
The movie took place in the far off future where the earth has frozen over. The story follows K short for Cain, an immortal who is unsure about what his life will turn into as soon as every person on earth dies off. After finds a half frozen boy in the snow, he ends up getting mixed up in a barbarian gang, and he and his new found companions end up working together to escape the cannibalistic group.
These two were play East and West, inseparable twins bonded together by the harsh landscape of what earth has become.
Dom, played K. This character is my take on what could have been the ultimate fate of Cain from the bible, after he killed Abel.

Marker McMark-face!
So I went on a marker spree a little while a go. I started with sharpies, because I had a pack in my art supplies.
Then I found a pair of cheep markers at TJ Maxx, which were brush style and I had never used that kind before, so my curiosity spurred that purchase. I realized I really liked working in marker and the control I got from it was something that was lacking in other mediums.

Then I found a pack of PrismaColor Markers in the Back of closet at my school and I created this little beauty.
And I could not stop. I LOVED THEM!!! After that I went on a bit of a marker binge, I bought my own set of Prismas and I markered, like it was going out of style.
So until my next obsession, I hope you enjoy!
Working In Layers (Submission for 2017 Art-A-Whirl)
I have been working on a series of painting that focus on transparency and opacity.
The bottom layer is painted with watercolor and markers, where the top layer (drawn on Vellum) is pen and ink.
"Morning Fog" 25"x19" in.
Here is and example of the paintings when the top layer is lifted.
"Out of the woods" 5"x7" in.
This style also gives the artwork a new depth that makes you feel like you are looking into something not just at something.
"Flight" 12"x 10" in
Each of the works of art are framed in hand made recycled wood frames, that were removed from a horse pasture fence.
After:"Thinning Trees" 12"x10" in
"Alone in the woods?" 5"x8" in
