The Glitch effect in 7th grade

At the end of a big lesson, if we have a bit of time left over, and I don't want to make the student sit through another lesson where they just have to listen to me yammer on about design, I like to do a short one day lesson.

I call these "Monkey See Monkey Do" lessons.

The students just follow along step by step, and at the end of the project, they have a fun picture, and they learned how to do a new effect in photoshop.

This year I chose a 2018 trend, so they can use it and have it be topical for this years popular imagery.

Below are the videos I used to kind of piece together a easy version of all three videos.

We also used text to add another piece of interest.

Spill it

I have been enjoying a little change of pace in the art realm as of late. At the beginnin gof every new year, designer all try to predict what the trends will be for up coming months. I am addicted to these videos. I love seeing what people have to say, and usually the places I look are pretty on the mark as far as predictions.

So I took a few of my favorites and I am going to them a try!

I hope you enjoy my experiments.

This year glitch and color channel are a thing, so I decided to try those out first.

I also really love text over images in general, so here is a little truth for your morning.

Text integation was another favorite from the list and I hope this one is right because I love this one!
