My film Endevours

I have made a goal for this year where i make a video every week. Which is insane by the way. I know Casey Niestat Use to make one every day, but that was his full time job. I already have a full time job... and I'm in grad school. 

I have regrets. 

Either way I made something pretty arty so I wanted to share, because if you make something pretty and you work really hard you wanna share it places. 

So I hope you enjoy. 

The Crystal Crow

This is strange piece but it is one of my favorites. 

Birds have always been a visually representation of my thoughts. I mean it does not really interpret clearly, a crow with crystal growing out of its head does not scream, a life in transition. But it was like a bookmark, that I recognize. 

This start a while ago, but it was finally finished a couple of months ago.  

The canvas is made of oak wood, the design is done with marker, the crow is done with acrylic. The gold ring around the outside was actually done with a metallic paint I tested from a few furniture refurbishes that I have done in the past year. 

The Glitch effect in 7th grade

At the end of a big lesson, if we have a bit of time left over, and I don't want to make the student sit through another lesson where they just have to listen to me yammer on about design, I like to do a short one day lesson. 

I call these "Monkey See Monkey Do" lessons. 

The students just follow along step by step, and at the end of the project, they have a fun picture, and they learned how to do a new effect in photoshop. 

This year I chose a 2018 trend, so they can use it and have it be topical for this years popular imagery.

We also used text to add another piece of interest. 

Spill it

I have been enjoying a little change of pace in the art realm as of late. At the beginnin gof every new year, designer all try to predict what the trends will be for up coming months. I am addicted to these videos. I love seeing what people have to say, and usually the places I look are pretty on the mark as far as predictions.

So I took a few of my favorites and I am going to them a try!
