Old work

Over the holidays I went searching through my parents basement and I found a few old artistic gems. I don't know what I was thinking when I created this, and some of the make me feel like I might need some therapy. Or maybe the artwork helped me work through whatever whack a doodle issues I was having at the time, who knows. Either way it's an interesting piece of artwork and I hope you enjoyed as much as I found it interesting.

New Design

I recently participated in another T-shirt contest through threadless.com. The challenge this particular week is Anime. The anime illustration I decided to design was a splatter painted Princess Mononoke.

If you would like to Vote for my design to be made into a shirt, go to https://www.threadless.com/anime/ and rate my work. While you are there check out the other great art and show those artists some love as well.

My name is Sarah Wiesner, and I have been creating art since as long as I can remember. Art is a part of everything I do, as an art teacher, I am constantly learning new techniques, which I apply to my own art. Watercolor is a new medium for me, but through the exploration of the pieces above, I have found a new love for it.

When I start a new medium, I don't try to limit myself to a theme. I try to draw only what I really want to draw, that way I can enjoy it to the fullest. I hope you enjoy my adventure it watercolor as much as I did.

Watercolor portrait.

So I decided I needed to re-train myself to paint skin color, I was pretty satisfied with the results considering I hadn't done it since high school. Watercolor is not my strongest medium but I am trying to broaden my horizons.

I was proud of myself.
