Another Crow

My own book characters

Last May I decided I wanted to start writing my own book.

I started with a prologue, just to get my feet wet. But then things just kept falling into place, so I kept writing. I have had such wonderful supportive people helping me with this project, and I don't know what I would do with out them.

At this point the book is almost finished, and I don't even care if it doesn't get published. My goal is to be done with it by the end of November, but right now I am almost at 80,000 words or 177 pages.

I am not getting my hopes up that it will ever be published, but I do have hope.

I drew these character designs up, a few months ago. I have not put them online yet, because I was still a little embarrassed by them, but now I figured what they heck.

So I hope you enjoy.

Book Brains

Recently I decided to write a book. My book will be a Young Adult Fiction Novel. As I started writing, I realized, there are a lot of people who are closet writers, like me. As we began to talk about our book ideas, I decided to do a few concept drawing of some of our characters.

These are Characters From my good friend Dan's Novel. Enjoy.

Fishy situation

This picture was done use acrylic, and it was outlined and detailed with sharpie.

Commission: House drawing.

Last year I donated a commission artwork to a fundraiser auction, for a school. The woman who won the bidding, asked me to do a drawing of her house. I have not drawn architecture in a very long time,  but I thought, how hard can it be?
It can be pretty hard. In the end everyone was happy with how, the picture turned out, but I will never forget this experience.

Scooby Doo

I went on a real life Cartoon kick. As I was flipping through my drawings I found Scooby, and I think he may be my favorite.

Artscape on main 2014

Every year I do a painting for Artscape on main. Rice Lake WI puts together a public banner art show that stays up all summer. At the end of the summer all the paintings are sold. This year I decided to go a little SciFi. When I do other work I try to make it have a propose, but this one is always just fun to do, so I like to pull out all the stops and just paint something fun.

So this is the Ever Elusive Space Moby.

The crow series (gotta figure out a better name...)

I have started my new Art series. I am focusing on the presence of crows in Different Religions. While most of you know, I have a thing for drawing birds. I wanted to go deeper into the concept of birds in human history. While I was researching the many myths and legends behind Birds and humans, I found something way more near and dear... Religion.

In almost every religion there is a story or an iconic moment where a crow makes an appearance. From Christianity to Greek mythology, and Native American legend to Norse lore, crows have made an entrance.

See if you can guess which crow this is.

First attempt at Anime

My students are all in love with anime. And after months of waring me down they finally convinced me to create an anime art lesson. However in order to teach anime techniques, you kind of need to know how to draw anime. So I decided to give it a try

Let me just say Anime is a drug, I have always hated anime. I didn't like the way it looks, and I didn't think it took any skill to draw. That being said, this anime picture was the gate way drug. After I researched anime enough to teach a lesson on the subject, I was hooked, and now there are very few anime shows I have not watched at this point. Anime has become my guilty pleasure.

So I hope you enjoy!!!

HPE Read-A-Thon T-Shirt Design

The school I work for does a fund raiser every year where the students read to raise money for the school. This year I decided to put help out by creating a t- shirt design. The money from the shurt sales will also go towards supporting the school.
